This SACD is certainly "off the beaten track" repertoire-wise.BIS is one of few record companies today that dare to venture into new territories.But just like their earlier Takemitsu disc which I like very much,this is a disc that gradually reveals it's true value.

Another brilliant SACD from BIS.Mozart's Clarinet Concerto is a major masterpiece that unfolds as naturally as a flower.And from soloist Martin Fröst we are getting an interpretation that IMO is almost as close to perfection as the piece itself.

I have to say that I certainly disagree with the earlier review of this stunning disc.
Ok, it may not be quite the equal of the old Leningrad Mravinsky, early sixties DGG LP version as far as the interpretation is concerned.

I'd like to add my support to the two other reviews here of this disc.
The Performance is not quite the equal of Karajan's Berliners or Bernstein's Vienna Philarmonic recordings, both on DG.
