I bought this SACD primarily for the Dvorak concerto which I haven´t got on LP.But was initially very disappointed by the Schumann concerto which comes first on this SACD. Compared to my two old references on LP, Julius Catchen on Decca and Geza Anda on DGG, Paulo Giacometti simply doesn´t reach ... more

This is my 4th Chandos SACD purchase in as many weeks, and very good it is. Good music very well recorded in a natural acoustic.If you are looking for a recording with all the tone colours of a traditonal symphonic orchestra, this is the one.Britten´s The Prince of the Pagodas is probably his ... more

I bought this record without really knowing anything about the music beforehand.My initial reactions were so, so.Not really world class pieces compared to the big names in contemporary music. This Chandos SACD, is yet another example of their natural recordings,and as usual, the difference between the RBCD layer and the SACD layer, is obvious.
