Preamble (or a lighthearted amble before the sprint) :
I am mad—was from the beginning, when I joined ; when I inherited my father's...

Learing back /showthread/38857/40464#40464 at an old disbeliever's challenge of Shakespeare :
Reason in madness !

Why not, if I can, when I thoughtfully choose ?

Mainly, let's concentrate on "zeus" ; his decisions when founding this ever steeper site (which I've always thought of, and said, as an Olympus). The point is clear, unless you've totally missed exposure to popular Greek mythological allusions (or won't research), Stephen is god (with a lower case [so, presumably, we won't feel too...

We (most of us), in turn, took to adopting Monikers...

Well, my original unknown surfaced again this morning when continuing my first Thread...

You might wonder, and correctly guessed, why I'm using my legal name ?

Yes, for me, it's personal ; since the very start...

And why should it not be personal for everyone who Posts ?

/showthread/115328 was another relevant issue that I'd stepped into, leading me to today proposing the ability to change one's Moniker to one's true names. As it is, many of us already address each other by our first names !?

Yet, firstly, "Back Again" of this Thread's title refers specifically to our Past Posts ; where, after the change, 'quote of' may still always be that of the original Moniker (due possibly to this Forum's minimalist...

However, if inspired, you too can register afresh and simply link your old membership to the new.

Secondly, I propose Stephen and John to reinstate the ability to 'search' for Threads that are not Albums. Do readers agree we've earned the right by our current interactions to be once again trusted ? Won't this enrich appreciation in archived contributions and resolve repetitive new Threads (those which are not deliberated by me [self-deprecating acknowledgement...

Yes, I'd included "to 'Polly Nomial'" ; some might not know that John became /showthread/96589 more or less equal to zeus :)

Are there any other proposals to revolutionise SA-CD.net ??

Pardon, in my maddened composure, I've not indicted specifics, only obliquely ; with links that link...

And, balancing the above graphic, http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1618352871124 was the counterpart that ran...

My dear Wilhelm, there is an old adage which I'm sure you're incredibly well aware of:

IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.

Zeus and Polly.......or as you'd have it, Stephen Best and John Broggio, have, IMHO, done an absolutely splendiferous job in creating and maintaining this website and with all the nitpicking aside, remains in my mind's eye, one of the best music sites on the world wide net.

And you must reasonably understand that for neither is SA.CD.net a FULL TIME undertaking.

And the most important inclusion should be that it's a hobby.

So if there are omissions from the Titles section one can always fill in the blanks by visiting One Bit Audio, pacwin's wonderful site which also includes DVD~A and BD~A as well as SACDs.

Sincerely,

RAM, Jr.

Please allow for swapping of SACDs, if that won't tick off the site sponsors (amazon, et al.)!

As long as it comes with guaranteed two day shipping via LUNNA PRIME aka Gisser Express!

Why not? Most were sourced from Amazon anyway and re-selling through them is not in any way finically sensible after deductions for their various "services".

Of course that immovable object that is zeus will probably wake up for long enough to knock this on the head yet again with a roar...

... or maybe we could set up our own new website SACD X-change?

Ralph that is soooooooooo un-American. Soon you'll be urging caution, whatever next?

Anyway Wilhelm suggests it is broke and has never been fixed and appreciative as I am of the authors of this site it could be one hell of a lot better.

Back ; facing you...

From http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1329754216338 is what was obscured before, the full text to Do Not Go Gentle Into that Good Night by Dylan Thomas, along with André Frénaud's Il n'y a pas de paradis.

So, there is the here and now.

And like I'd said :
"Participation is perhaps forever key..."

To the betterment of contributing to the SA-CD.net experience, I've the following, foremost to mind, recommendations :
1. Update /showthread/37 to, firstly, encourage the use of one's actual name.

2. Following on, an ability to Edit our Monikers, say maximum of 5 times (for especially ladies [I use this word kindly] ; as women may well outlive [or divorce] 4 husbands [at the 6th, she's...

3. With 'zeus' setting the example by changing to his real name, whether hyphenating his ruling role or no (for people can link to read why...

4. At User Details, only people who "found this review helpful" be listed, because, as it is, it's open to the spite of voting...

5. And Latest Posts to list minimum of 10 entries (with choice to list 20) so people can better follow and judge...

The identity that characterises each member has an importance to our investment of time ?!

Why bother writing the same things repeatedly ? I confess to composing Variations Upon a Theme of Friendship, but you can choose to not...

And, reinstate a version of Thread Search that complements rather than diminishes Albums. Meanwhile, why not Post links to what you've already said, for example, to members who ask about buying, especially freshly registered ones who may not have the courtesy to Post a follow-up from following, or ignoring, of your standard advice ; nor might they join in any further Thre...

Threads, if they be important enough for us to comment, should have an accurate accompanying portrait, even photographic, in User Details—at least one legal name ; my translated bracketed one at Facebook is Will of Odysseus... Truly, for the sake of integrity, is it worth the time in replying if we don't have a sincere indication of humanity from the other ?

Pardon, if I've, deadpan, inadvertently shot at a few of you.

There's more ; ideas, that benefit the upkeep, remembrance that 'support' is appreciated in buying (assorted member [where your standing counts] endorsed) goods through vendors ; is it difficult to implement a floating tool bar ? And...

[Non album Threads for bits of historical depth, which I might later look for to edit in, could have been easily found if the onsite Search function...

Hi - if there's a title missing, you can either "submit" it or send me an email with enough details to find the disc with its EAN/JAN/barcode (a link to any Amazon page works fine or another retailer that provides the barcode information).

(And thanks for the compliments; you can't see me but my cheeks are distinctly flushed!)

Best regards, PN.

"Super Audio - Compulsive Disorder (dot) network" was perhaps, perhaps not a spoof.

The truth of /showthread/115751 is that we, Users as well as Administrators, should adjust to today...

Let's redefine the site name to preserve all that has been and all that will be ?

SA or "Super Audio" points back to the site's heritage, it's raison d'être... Its meaning easily encompasses the quality we seek regardless of changes... So those words stay ?!

CD, nowadays it's losing it's relevance for all the reasons you yourself can... So, how about "Consumer Digital" ? It encompasses all of us in our search to be informed consumers in this digital age regardless of changes...

"Well, what do you think ? What would you otherwise suggest ?"

And "is it difficult to implement a floating tool bar ?" One that Users can search for the Album (or download), giving links to availability and pricing within associated vendors' sites. This will also enable while we're here the searching for other suggestions by Users, such as Criterion Collection titles /showthread/115712 and the like to benefit...

Needing to log-off, in short, I empathise with Stephen's outlook in /showthread/111713 to add the importance of community's continuing contribution...
