Am well, thanks for inquiring ; today, 15th September 2014, I know family will take priority... « What I always tell people is the following : whatever product you listen to, regardless of cost, if your emotion is moved by your favourite music when you put it on, then this product or system has a value to you. But if that does not happen—even if the product is very expensive—then it has no value to you. » — Ken Ishiwata (b. 1947) Well, I value being friends with Michael Wildash (the previous official New Zealand distributor of Marantz, 1997-2009) and having befriended Ken Ishiwata... By choice, most of my HiFi has been (and will mainly be) in support their work. In 2009 I referenced this setup : Marantz PM7001KI & Marantz SA7001KI - Jamo D830 Last year, Marantz' 60th Anniversary, I bought a Consolette (and would like a NA-11S1). What I've not talked much about is historic Marantz products that I own such as SA-12S1, SA-17, MusicLink components, CD-7... Yes, products become discontinued, newer products are released. And throughout the decades, until his willing retirement, Ken works painstakingly at offering benchmarking products for present day consumer needs. In short, because of global discrepancies due to distributors' location plus their ordering, the cost and availability of a Marantz can differ greatly.
