Next week SA-CD.net (formerly SACDinfo.com) will be ten years old. What started as a simple list of available discs and basic FAQ graduated to a programmable web database in early January 2003. The site has grown somewhat (the content definitely so) since then but the role of tabulating releases on the format and providing the means (open to all) to review and discuss their worth hasn't changed. It goes without saying that the site wouldn't still be here if it wasn't for continued interest in the format, people here contributing reviews and lastly financial support from buying stuff through the links.

Anyway, the point of this post is to announce (or rather confirm) John Broggio (Polly Nomial) as responsible for day to day management of the site. John took over from me when I went on holiday recently and has done such a great job since that I'm delighted to have him continue on a permanent basis (or at least until he gets sick of it). This will also hopefully give me time to make some long overdue changes to the site's functionally. I'm delighted to have someone equally respected for their musical knowledge and evenhandedness take on this role.

Thanks for the news. I, for one, think John has been doing an excellent these past few months. Sounds like the site will only get better from now on.

Ten Years is certainly somewhat of a milestone considering that everything on the web nowadays is transitory, at best.

Stephen, you have done a splendid job of keeping this treasuretrove of all things SACD alive and I greatly commend you for your exceedingly hard work and dedication.

And our dear friend, John Broggio (alias Polly Nomial) was a vigilant Sergeant At Arms during your recent Italian sojourn and very glad to hear that he will be assuming more responsibility on this forum.

One concept I still have trouble comprehending........Stephen, you mentionedf that there are currently 124 labels producing SACDs. But I was thinking, there are only a handful of pressing plants, worldwide, replicating them. As a means of getting valuable info concerning new releases (and not from the usual suspects like Pentatone, Channel and Bis, et alia, who religiously supply you with their latest) would it be prudent to contact these pressing plants and form an alliance with them whereby they could furnish this site with that same info you seek from your posters....supplying you with photos and barcode info that could expedite inclusion of these new releases into SA~CD.net's database.

I have no idea how pressing plants operate but I know there are individuals who oversee their production so I am assuming that contacting these managers might be a panacea for this forum. Just a thought.

Congratulations Zeus and now John for maintaining such a valuable and interesting website........10 years and still going STRONG!

I'd also like to say thanks. 10 years is great, especially for a format that most said was dead. Certainly your efforts have only helped so thanks again.

Although I rarely contribute to the various fora being more of a 'follower', I must say that this is an excellent website which I have regularly used to identify, review and then purchase discs, so many thanks indeed for the great work over the last 10 years and good luck going forward. Long may the SACD flourish - it's down to all of us to ensure that the future remains bright.

I would also like to thank you both - this is the single most important site for me when buying music

Congratulations on the 10 year anniversay! A valuable site. I especially enjoy the interactions with the label heads and hope they continue to participate in dicussions. Hopefully, the SACD format will remain viable for years to come.

Even though I've only written two reviews and a handful of posts, this is an essential site for me in my search for hi-res and multi-channel audio. Thanks to all who've made it possible and hopefuly we'll have a similar thread in another 10 years!

Many congratulations on you tenth birthday. Like everyone else I have also found this website an excelent source for information on SACD. I would never have purchased many of the SACD's I have .without first refering to this website. You have done a superb job. I hope some of the record labels also recognise your efforts.
Looking forward to the next ten years :D

Kindest regards
