As a long time fan of Baroque music (and a person who is vigorously re-educating himself), I bought this disc as a friend recommended it. I will have to pretty much agree with the other reviews. I am not usually a big fan of DG recordings as I have alway found their orchestral material simply too closely miked.

I am going to agree with the previous reviewer 100% I have given this SACD two complete listens, and I find the lack of substantial air to be strangely missing. Okay,
I am going to give this SACD high marks for both performance and sound, and both are top notch. I have another SACD of Tchaikovsky 5th, with Neemi Jarvi and Gothenburg (BIS) so I can actually compare SACD to SACD both on sound and performance.
