Why does the Search Engine automatically strip out lone numerals, when the standard format for listing works separates numerals from their context?

Example:

Standard listing: "Mahler: Symphony No. 8"
Search entry: "mahler symphony 8"
Search executed: "mahler symphony"
Result of search: Every goddam Mahler symphony listed on the site!

I suppose you could use your browser's page search function.

Try google: "mahler symphony 8" site:sa-cd.net

That last attribute makes google search only inside SA-CD.net, and works much better than the local search function.

AmonRa's suggestion also allows to search the forum, which is excluded from the local search function.

Thanks to all for the useful suggestions.

That last attribute makes google search only inside SA-CD.net, and works much better than the local search function.

Specifically, Google Advanced Search:
http://www.google.co.uk/advanced_search?hl=en

...which is what AmonRa is referring to.

Kind of off topic, but I'm enjoying Mahler: symphony No 8 on blu ray right now. I just got it a few days ago. It's the first symphony purchase for me on blu ray. Suffice to say I'll be looking for more symphonies on blu ray in the future :)

Kind of off topic, but I'm enjoying Downton Abbey on Bluray at the moment. I now realise that the source of many of life's problems is the lack of staff around here.

You won't find them here, this is a SACD site.
