Great recording of works for strings by Benjamin Britten. The tenor is excellent in both the Illuminations and Serenade. Sound quality is outstanding and the string playing is right on pitch.

Beware this disc!!! Do not buy this thinking you will have something that sounds at least good. The sonics on this disc are TERRIBLE, especially when considering the sound of most of the contemporary Davis CBS recordings. Great recording of traffic in Edinburgh... Great recording of Sibelius? I don't think so. Prosaic recording? Maybe...
