Basically, you either like this kind of stuff or you don’t. I love it, and can’t get enough of the 80-ties electro pop. We have almost all Pentatone RQR discs. Acoustically, this is the best one. It is also the most natural surround recording in all our collection. Even after reading short and rather general notes provided by Dejan Lazic himself, I’m not entirely convinced that coupling Beethoven’s piano concerto and Haydn’s sonatas is a terribly exciting thing. I didn’t expect this recording to be as good as it is, but I have to agree with Dinko. I won’t be rushing now to buy more Harnoncourt CDs thou, but this performance ranks among the best available of Bruckner’s 9th.
