Club atmosphere and nice playing. Compared to other releases on Telarc this one sounds extremely natural and fast and creates a true virtual reality. It feels like being transported into the scenery. Great disc from a musical point of view. Sonics are not as good as expected. It seems that Blue Note is not able to dig out as much information from the master tapes as e.g. is the case with Analog Productions. Too much Sarah Vaughan wanna be singing... But nicely done anyway. The strings are not my favorite orchestration of jazz. Sonics are not top class.

Modern classical music, with great variation and intensity from the beginning to the end. Five stars are given for performance as well as for the composers work. Probably the best Bartok "Concerto for Orchestra" ever recorded. A desert island disc for those who like the Hungarian composer.
