I agree with vonwegen regarding the detail on this SACD overshadowing the CD release. When I first heard the CD, I didn't really like the album except for a couple of songs. I really agree with nucaleena. I can't believe how popular this album is when the music making is so uninspired and monotonous. The sound is OK, but nothing to get excited about or use as a reference for realism or lifelike tone quality. |

I was so looking forward to this release. The masters of these sessions must have been horrible. There's alot of overloading and the channel separation is terrible. Everything is blaring at once, and there's no balance. The vocals are everywhere, and it sounds like he was overloading the microphone. ... more |

Abbado has no clue with Wagner. Stay away!
