This is a very impressive disk. I have had this album on CD pretty much since it originally came out. The sound was always decent. If you want to hear an original instruments style version of the Brahms Requiem, this is it. I love this symphony and there exist several excellent recordings - 3 from Karajan, 2 from Jochum, Bohm, Haitink, Solti, older historic performances, etc. Based on the performance alone, this ranks very well with those.
