Yeah - this disc sounds danm good. I owned this, and many other, early DMP recordings. The music is great progressive jazz that typically starts with a simple theme and builds/slams into more complex refrains. It was recorded as well as it could have been in the early eighties. This is a terrific album! The opening number is one of the best. It's so good, in fact, that my 16 year old boy, came into the listening room to tell me how much he liked it. Now that's cross-over music, friends.

I have to agree with CompressionMustDie on this one. The disc is very good: great (if dated and sappy) songs, and well mixed for surround sound. But CMD is right - you can hear the compression in the upper registers. Cymbols and hi-hats suffer the most. If you can forgive a couple of flaws, and you ... more |

Yet another review by someone who is not a Celine Dion fan. Even so, this is a really great sounding album wiht lots of songs you'll recognize and enjoy. A quick comment regarding the sonics of this album. It sounds good in MC. That said it does have a kind of "echoy closed in feeling, especially the opening cut. The cymbals sound a bit metallic on some songs, but since it's not harsh on all songs it's hard to tell if it's intentional or not. As with ... more |
