Maybe it's just me but, I find that I can't sit and just listen to this disc. Nothing wrong with the recording or selection of tunes but I find it just...well boring is the best way I can describe it. I just did a close "Back to Back" comparisson (DCC Gold and SACD) of two of my favourite tracks on '61 (Ballad Of A Thin Man and Just like Tom Thumb's Blues) just to confirm what I already really knew from previous listening.

I find this a great disc that more than lives up to what I had anticipated and, I've been waiting for this release (along with other Dylan titles) for quite some time. Judging the sound quality of a recording has to take many factors into account and I would like to add something I posted to another ... more |

This is one of these "can't miss" deals. There are some really great cuts and some high quality sonics. It might introduce you to a few artists that you're not familiar with. This SACD is well worth getting hold of. |

I guess I fall in between the audiohiffle's and the other two reviewers as far as the sound rating of this disc. I have heard that in this particular case that multichannel does add quite a bit to the presentation but, as a stereo only listener I can't really comment first hand.
