I bought this SACD to see how it would hold up against the fabulous Telarc with Robert Spano. Well, it was an interesting shoot out. The nod for great sound definitely goes to the Telarc, as it is a pure DSD recording, whereas the Naxos is apparently a PCM that was then transfered to ... more

Well, the quest for a killer SACD of Vivaldi's "4 Seasons" goes on. WOW, I had to jump through hoops to get this SACD, and was it ever worth it!!!! I am not normally a person who buys solo woodwind music, though I can easily take oboe or bassoon over solo flute or clarinet. Anyway, the miking is just a touch close and allows for the keys on Mr. Utkin's Loree oboe ... more

I am going to chime in on this one as well..... Paavo Jarvi is starting to leave me cold....I cannot understand what is going on here, but this performance is cold, dull, and uninspiring...period.
