This time not much to add to Castors perfect decription of the ideal companion disc to Beartons Lut disc. They even offer lower postage for 2?.Its near impossible to buy actually in Poland from my
limited exoerience.
Who needs another Richard Strauss tone poem.? We do. or Did. I doubt if anyone hearing it for the first time wont smile.ok Poland is not a million miles away from Dresden/Leipzig.
The violin concerto from 1915 ish? seems well ahead of its time orchestrally and this beautifull and complex journey once again is not a minute too long even with its quietish ending.
The symphony or piano concerto ,take your pick again is different but hardly more modern despite its later birthdate.Again the orchestreation and on this disc the playing is remarkable.
The recording of such complex but not difficult works is quite outstanding and we can only hope that a sister disc containg the two missing and very contrasting symphonies is to follow by a composer noted for never writing anything similair to his other works .Please Bearton.
