The Brandenburg Concertos are one of my favorite pieces of baroque Music
So when I heard that Tacet launch it in SACD I was by advance very exiting to listen it, and I was very disappointed by listening it in stereo
I must maybe first add some comments about SACD hear for the understanding of my comments.
I think that that one reasons of the fail of SACD is the multi-channel issue:
If you read the recommendation, it is say that for a good audition you must have 5 identical speakers.
SO WHO CAN PUT 5 IDENTICAL NICE & BIG HIGH QUALITY HI-FI SPEAKERS IN HIS LIVING ROOM??????
WHO HAVE A MULTI-CHANNEL SYSTEM WITH VALVE OR CLASS A AMPLIFICATION????
So for this reasons it is quite impossible for 99.9% of the audiophiles to have an audiophile’s multi-channel system
The error was to compare home theater multi-channel and musical installation, in home theater what you are listening is more noise (even a pleasant one) than music!
It is a pity because listening good stereo SACD is quite nice, but today very few new CD player, even quite expensive one didn’t offer the SACD stereo lecture!
This is for me a non sense when you think that you can bought some from 3.000 to 10.000 € and at that price they don’t offer stereo SACD lecture! Who can not be an expensive option (comparing to the selling price)
So coming back to the Concertos, you have already understood that I’m not a fanatic of the multi-channel.
The listening of the Tacet Brandenburg in stereo is quite a poor experience, sound is flat, interpretation too, and the concertos are played like forty years ago without punch and dynamism
So maybe in Multi-channel it is a demonstration SACD , to keep for the show but not for the music!

What a disappointing, comparing to the exceptional the “Die Röhre” recording!
