Euro Arts have their first foray into blu ray audio:

"EuroArts Music releases first HD Audio production on Blu-ray Audio Disc

With "Ingenious Opposites", EuroArts starts a new series of high quality audio productions: For the very first time, a high end audio recording and production emerges unhindered by the compromises associated with other recording mediums: “Lossless High Definition Audio” is now possible on Blu-ray Audio Disc. Using the Direct A/D (analog to digital) technique, digital microphones convert the analogue signal directly inside the microphone – behind the membrane, effectively eliminating the signal loss that occurs in the audio chain and results in the highest achievable and unmatched signal to noise ratio. This HD Audio production uses the Blu-ray Disc as a sound carrier, which allows a high capacity of 25 or even 50 Gigabytes that can be used ONLY for SOUND"

Etudes symphoniques (Symphonic Etudes), Op. 13
Annees de pelerinage, 2nd year, Italy, S161/R10b (excerpts)
12 Etudes d'execution transcendante, S139/R2b (excerpts)

Naxos however seem to have stalled with their own blu ray audio program even though they have this in their catalogue:

Fantastic news, pacwin.

IMO, Except for the Corigliano, the Mahler 8th (conducted by Antonia Wit) and the Virtual Hadyn BD~Audio releases, Naxos has not been well~represented in the format. Seems their Hi~rez releases on SACD and DVD~A were also lacking.

Naxos needs someone who really knows what they're doing to propel their future hi~rez BD~Audio releases into respectability.

Wouldn't Michael Daugherty's Metropolis Symphony be a good candidate for a BD~A release?

Add a nice pair of Szymanowski discs from Anton Wit, some decent Chopin and Dvorak.

Naxos has always been opportunistic when it comes to formats. They test the waters and see what floats.

Kal, I agree that the Antonia Wit conducted Szymanowski discs are fine but "decent" Chopin and Dvorak are, IMO, not prime candidates for showing off a new format......Add to that a decent Gershwin, as well but I'll stick with my older Classic Recordings DVD~A of Gershwin: All The Works For Orchestra on VOX.

Can't these two record labels understand that all new HD audio formats have a life span only slightly longer than the average fruitfly?

I do have all Witt BR-A's for specific artistic assesments but am not convinced at all that NAXOS understands Hi-Res recording in General. All the recordings suffer from swimming pool acoustics. On its own the reproduction of the string sections and instruments in general seem fine in their Multi-Channel version, but low frequencies drown in the tub. Note that their Multi-channel productions are presented in DTS MAster at 24/96 (recorded 24/88.2) but their stereo mix is only presented at 16/48Khz. The stereo quality I find dreadful.

Much better are the issues from the Norwegian lable 2L. They simply package the BR-A disc together with a SACD, apparantly just to make sure you get the Hi-res you need! Well done...

Yawn. I was expecting something new.

We've had plenty of discussions about the impact of Blu-ray Audio already.

All those and more are already available as 24/96 downloads from several sites.
I am tempted to download their Janacek Glagolitic Mass and Sinfonietta.
Have you heard that recording?

24/96 in stereo. That's the swimming pool sound I was referring to. Wit's Glagolitic Mass I found tame and average solo performers. But there is little alternative.
