I don't think I have Shchedrin No 5, and I do like Shchedrin muchly, so shall try this. Hope Mariinsky (with the double ii) are back on form.

If only they would go back to using Soundmirror to do the recording. I suspect I will not be purchasing much from this label anymore.

I have Matsuev's RBCD with Mariss Jansons conducting. It's a very powerful and virtuosic piece. No doubt Matsuev and Gergiev will play the pants off it! I just hope the audio quality does it justice.

Don Quichotte is a lovely opera. But can a new recording be better than the one with Crespin, Ghiaurov and Kord? Well, why not?
