I emailed Cambria Records to find out the recording resolution of this set ... This is pure DSD:

===============================================
In response to your inquiry, the engineering staff has provided the following:

Native DSD, 1 Bit 2.28 Mhz

The other resolutions you mentioned in your letter are low resolution, comparatively.

Possibly but Brautigam takes one hell of a beating - he's transformed my opinion of both the fortepiano and how Beethoven's music sounds.

Eitherway, it has been quite a while since the last installment in the Igor Tchetuev/Caro Mitis Beethoven cycle,.....

Yes: what ever happened to this cycle? The News section on their website hasn't been updated since 2008?!

Yep. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of the recordings from the cycle.

This has been in the works for some time. It's recorded by Soundmirror and produced by Blanton Alspaugh. The snippets I heard were stunning.

Hi, there,

just to confirm - volumes 4 and 5 of the cycle (Tchetuev/Beethoven Complete Piano Sonatas - Caro Mitis) have been recorded. Volume 4 is going to be released in November 2010.

Agreed, Brautigam's set is outstanding in every way. The one volume I've heard of Tchetuev is admirable and sonically Caro Mitis' recordings are consistently among the best available. I have two volumes of Kodama's and they are sonically quite beautiful but not in the same league performancewise.

I have the volumes 2 and 3 and I am about to order the volume 1,
If I may ask which sonatas are included in the upcoming volumes 4 and 5?
