While at the Sydney Opera House on the weekend for the Ashkenazy Elgar Festival I saw that the Rachmaninov concerts he gave last year had just been released on disc. There was a boxed set of the symphonies which I was going to get but dropped it like a hot brick when I saw it was only red book cd.I contacted SSO this week and got a prompt and helpful response to say that this release was brought forward for the Elgar Festival and the SACD's should follow as single releases shortly. However they did not know whether Exton would import them to Australia or we would have to get them in from Japan.

Exton were there recording the cello concerto and symphony 1 both of which I can't wait to get on SACD.

I did try the Exton website to see if it had any info about these recordings but although the front page is in English the rest is surprisingly only in Japanese. Perhaps any Japanese speaking members of this site could check it out and report back?

Just discovered the HMV site also carries the Exton SACD's. Conversion to English is actually wonderful, unlike Amazon.jp. Here is the link:

I've been looking for the Dvorak symphonies 2&6.

Thanks for the info but being stupid I can't get up more than 20 sacds when I enter sacd and then only about 3 Exton samplers. Where did you find the EXTONS?
I have 3/7 which I am very happy with both as a recording and performance.
