A web-tv clip suggests that Julia Fischer will concert in Sweden the coming season, if I'm not mistaken.

Great!

Pentatone or Decca I don't care. She plays in Gothenburg the coming season, that is the way to hear her (or any musician) playing.

I agree. In person is always best. Let's just hope she may do more SA-CDs. :)

Her web site has been updated a little bit recently. There are some nice high resolution photos there.

There is a horrible (and surely unfair) review of the Pentatone Mozart Concertos 1,2 and 5 on Amazon UK site. I have ordered a copy in the hope of posting a more balanced review. If anyone else who has bought the disc through Amazon and thinks it is ok could they perhaps join me.

You are byuing a disc in order to write review on amazon? Wow you really must like JF.

I am plugging a gap in my collection and do like JF so it makes sense. When there is only one review and it is clearly so far 'off the mark' it can have an adverse effect on potential buyers. It was the recording which came under fire. On this site comments were pretty favourable with a lot of people who bought it recommending it.

I got my copy out of Julia doing 1, 2 and 5 and gave it another listen ... Thought the review on Amazon UK was very unfair, so put one up myself. I looked at some of that reviewer's other reviews, and there is not much that we would agree upon - she likes the discs I dislike, and vice versa. Can happen. But then she makes comments in her review like:

" Mind you all, this is not the first Pentatone recording that has a diffused sound problems (I reviewed the List/ Arrau/Pentathone which too has a too distanced unfocused sound)."

... which is, of course, not a Pentatone recording anyway, but a re-release of that recording by Pentatone.

Exactly! Thanks for doing that, I will post one once my disc arrives. I don't think the reviewer is very well informed and some of her remarks were quite damaging to the label and to Julia Fischer. If that had been the only review I had read and didn't know that Pentatone recordings can be trusted I would probably not have bought it.

You didn't even have to tell me who the "reviewer" was over at Amazon. I knew it was Judy Spotheim, who thinks she knows recordings and is a legend in her own mind. She's an idiot.
