O Joy! MORE delicious Papa Joe, and from this most excellent foursome. I am hereby giving this disc 5+5 stars, sight unseen and sound unheard.

Now if only the Párkányi would do Janácek....

B sorry to keep pestering you with the same question - but is this disc stereo only or multichannel?

I just e-mailed Crotchet and they wrote that their importer informed them that this SACD is scheduled for release in August.

Edit: The serial number (according to the Parkanyi Quartet homepage) is PRD/DSD 250 238. Perhaps those that recommended this SACD could confirm this as well as fill in the other incomplete fields in the title page.

I purchased this disc at Amazon.fr
The serial number is the one you gave above.
The sound (in MC) is wonderful, as well as the playing of the Parkanyi Quartet.
I'm really starting to build a collection of Praga Digitals SACD, I've never been deceived by any of them.

Likewise here. They seem to be released much later in the UK than in other European countries.

Amazon Canada just sent a note: "We wanted to let you know there's a delay...". I HOPE it's just a delay; their site now only lists 3rd-party sellers at 3 times the price...!

BAIT AND ZILCH MARKETING
Amazon Canada now admits they hadn't an infernal snowball's chance of supplying this disc -- after keeping me waiting for months! BAD amazon.ca! (I now have it and Bartók/Kocsis on order from Amazon France...).
;-(

It is easily available here in France. I purchased it in a brick and mortar shop (also available at amazon.fr).

Very good album. Superb interpretation, dynamic, sensible. The quartet seemed really happy to play that music.
I loved the sound. Seemed as if recorded with microphone very near the intruments and the musicians, one can hear their breath.
The SACD is multichannel, I listened in stereo.

Parkanyi Quartet's record from Praga Digital (the 2 Bartok, a Debussy/Ravel; an Haydn) are really a milestone.
(and don't forget their old Mozart recordings, under the Orlando Quartet name).

I ordered it from JPC, and it's supposedly on its way...look forward to hearing it.
