The juxtaposition of life expectancy and number of sacds is a topic near and dear to me since the doctors say I have about 18 months left. After clearing out about 100 pieces of deadwood (always a hazard for early adopters since a better performance or recording is almost certain to come along), I've actually gone on a mini buying binge to get back to somewhere around 750, and yes, it's true, I'll probably never get to listen to all of them. But I intend to have fun trying!

Doctors, what do they know? My ambition is to know well enough to identify each all of Bach's cantatas before I go. I see from your library here that your aim may not be too dissimilar.

Actually been listening to Thomas Gunther's WTC book 1 tonight, and yes, JSB spends more time in my player than anyone else.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Bill. I am sure you will prove them all wrong. Here's to many many more years of glorious music in surround. :)

Thanks for the encouragement. Now if Bissie would just get Mr Brautigam to get the Diabelli in the can and out the door as well as finish Vanska's Sibelius cycle, and Sudbin's Beethoven and Rachmaninov concertos and.....

I don't count. But, I would say somewhere in the 300 range. This, however, includes DVD-A and BD-Audio.

Sounds as if you quite like it. : )

I have:
Piano Works during and after Russian Futurism, Vol. 1 - Thomas Günther

... and find the performance and sound quality excellent. I've been thinking of adding his WTC to my library. Although Bach isn't my favourite composer, I might grow into it I reckon.
