We have a new one from Amsterdam Sinfonietta:

To be released mid-November.

Looks quite interesting.

Thanks for the link.

Yes, it looks (and sounds) great. I found an in depth article on Osvaldo Golijov.
About half way down, the paragraph starting "In 1996..." discusses his piece Last Round.

I downloaded it last night after having watched Jonas Sack's great video from the sessions.
And it is imho,as usual from this source both very well recorded and played and some really great music well off the beaten track.
Chris, busy packing for Singapore and the opportunity to hear some live music too.

Thanks for the information.

Imagine my surprise to find that the multi-channel DSD download of this title is already available at the CC download site.

Now all I have to do is make the financial commitment to purchase my new Sony BDP-S7200 sooner rather than later, to be able to play those DSD files. Very tempting as I'm quite keen to obtain this new Amsterdam Sinfonietta release.

Lute, thanks for the link. A quite comprehensive insight of Golijov, the composer.

Sometimes Native DSD and Channel Classics web sites have the new albums up as downloads before the SACDs arrive. For example, this one was on sale for 25% off in Multichannel & Stereo DSD along with 4 other Amsterdam Sinfonietta DSD Downloads over at NativeDSD.Com last week (Oct 10 - 17).

It's a good idea to keep an eye out for the new releases and discount offers.

This is a fantastic recording, and if you want to show off your system's ability to reproduce string tone, then look no further. I just love the Ginastera--the last movement's intensity is absolutely hair-raising.

But then you have the almost continuous interruptions of that string tone by the marvellous tone of the cello and contrabass sections.

What's the resolution of that dilemma? : )

Well, I don't view it as a dilemma, so it's not a problem for me! :-)

Just got mine today--along with Ivan Fischer's new Brahms 2-- and I love it! Wonderful recording, delightful music---quite refreshing. I've enjoyed every release I've heard from this marvelous group. Congratulations to all!
