Under the very helpful 'recording info' section, it states: "World's longest SACD: 86'22"
Not sure about that ... longer SACDs I know of include:
(...)
The Modern Jazz Quartet: The Last Concert Format: Single-Layer Stereo SHM Playing time: 91:33
World's longest HYBRID SACD. It says "Hybrid" in the explanation. And at 86:22 it is. I myself have at least 8 single-layer SACD:s that are up to 254 minutes' duration each.
C'mon! You're a scientist. Shouldn't you read all the info? Or did you write this so as to give me a chance to answer and further plug this wonderful production? If so, thanks.
Robert
Polly: could you insert the "Hybrid", please?

Its total timing just for the CD-layer only.......
SA-CD layer comprises of the original version of Palanets (tr. 1-7) + Lyric movement for viola and small orchestra (tr.8) next is the version of Planets revised by Matthews + Pluto (tr. 9-16) 157mins and 37 sec altogether.
Is the SACD layer stereo only or is it stereo plus multichannel?

Its an intriguing stereo only hybrid. worst of all planets on SA-CD (save Jupiter) Mark Elder is not doing it very well. IMHO: best is Previn w. LSO 1974 (quadro) next is both Gardiner and Davis the 3rd Dutoit. Worth 10 bucks - not more.
