What applications do I need for my Mac computer to open DSD downloaded files? Several days ago I downloaded a DSD file from DSD-Guide.com and my computer was not able to open the file. The message I got was: There is no application set to open the document "Emily Palen - Glass - 03 - Light in the Fracture - DSDIFF.dff".
I have the latest OS with all new versions on my Mac and my audio player is a Oppo BDP-105 with the latest firmware download.

Just put the DSD files on a hard drive and hook to directly to the Oppo.
JRiver Media Center - Mac, you can buy a copy from Acoustic sounds.

Thanks hooperthom. I pulled the downloaded file onto a thumb flash drive and was able to play the file on my Oppo. It sounds amazing.
Is there anyway to burn the DSD files to a disc?

You can burn a stereo DSD Disc from those files.
A DSD disc is not an SACD.
Playback is limited to some Playstation3 players.
An Oppo will not play these discs.
Korg has the free AudioGate software to make these discs (Windows and Mac).
You can also play the files on your computer at as high a sampling rate
as your sound card can support (probably 96KHz).

You can also stream them from your computer's hard drive via SMB/ethernet and the network interface on the Oppo.

Thanks everyone for the help.
I have downloaded one DSD album taking several hours. I have been experimenting with Hi-Rez, DSD downloads, Blu-Ray discs and so far haven't found any of these newer medias superior to SACDs. Downloads usually take several hours to download. I will only use these alternate media to acquire music I can't find on SACDs at this present time.

I usually load up my download manager before turning in and all the files are there when I wake up.

That's the case if your internet connection is still of the 10 year old standard for residential access.
I have the cheapest cable access that my provider offers (30 Mbit/s, $50 per month including phone calls). An entire album in 24/192 PCM stereo (maximum 2.5GB) takes about 20 minutes to download.
With most connections available in metropolitan areas, download times for music (at any resolution) is no longer an issue.

With my fast connection in town,I downloaded the complete opera, Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte,8 Gigabytes in its aiff,not flac compressed,but full hi res 24/96 masterfiles version in roughly twenty minutes this week. I have 100 mbps there and only 6 mbps in the countryside. But yesterday I saw an add somewhere from a company here in Sweden promising download speeds up to 500 Mbit/s.
