Spiegel im Spiegel (mirror in mirror) is performed 3 times on this SACD, on different instruments: first on violin and piano, then viola and piano, and finally, cello and piano. Inbetween, there are 3 other works:
* Variationen zur Gesundung von Arinuschka - for solo piano * Für Alina - for solo piano (Alina is Pärt's daughter) * Mozart Adagio - for violin, cello and piano
The works are restful, simple and minimalist ... perhaps even moreso than usual for Pärt. The performances are neat, clean and polished -- just right … They are easy pieces to play, but not everything that is easy, is easy to play well. And the sonics are super (I listen in stereo) and seem to match the ethereal character of the works.
Definitely worth buying (even though the playtime is perhaps a little short at 46 minutes). Beautiful SACD. I believe it is OOP, so I would not procrastinate either.
