I strongly agree with Castor. I listened this five minutes ago and I was very impressed: the whole performance was cinematic listening experience. The booklet says that this was mixed to 4.0 multi-channel. Actually this should be 4.1 because my subwoofer switched on during "'Marche Hongroise". ... more

Don't waste your money, this is horrible! This is recorded during Valery Gergiev's Mahler project with London Symphony Orchestra and loses its brilliance for poor engineering. I thought that the performance would be excellent according Maestro Gergiev's previous recordings. First movement, ... more

This is absolutely the best recording of Mendelssohn's "St. Paul"! Carus offers a crystal clear multi-channel sound. I listened this with the study score (Breitkopf & Härtel) and the recording brought more instrumental and vocal details to us. Bernius tempi were peaceful. It wasn't only a ... more

I totally agree with below review: Penguin Guide (2010): "Gergiev's approach to Mahler's Sixth is bold and dramatic and his performance has a total conviction not always apparent in his controversial cycle...
