Mono in SACD?
Oh, yeah! ... as this release convinces you.
Track 2 includes perhaps the most fun moment/solo of post-bob jazz that I have heard, including "Diminuendo and Crescendo" from Ellington's "Live at Newport" (hard to beat). I won't ruin it for you, if you haven't heard it.

This release is the best headphone album that I own... period.
It's a crime that this group didn't break through. The first half (i.e., first album) of this SACD is especially amazing. Totally recommended.... |

Headphones, baby, headphones....
The coolest thing about this soundtrack is that it's 90% instrumental. Fantasy/Jazz has done another terrific job on this one, which has superb (I mean SUPERB) texture. |

Wow! If you like this kind of music (and of course you do, because otherwise why would you be reading this review?), then buy this SACD whenever and wherever you find it available. I paid less than $100 for my copy, and I consider it a bargain.
