Most of us who buy SACDs expect excellent sonics. Not here. There is a glare and nasality to Carole's voice that is very unpleasant. Her backing is mainly a piano that she is playing. Too thin. Try Nina Simone at Town Hall to here what a great live performance can sound like. Still many of these ... more

I do not have any formal music training so read this review with that in mind. Volodos seems very skilled in his playing and the interpretations seem well thought (felt) out. When I buy an SACD I am looking for excellent sound quality and hopefully an excellent performance. I do not have enough experience with this piece to comment on the performance but as to the sound quality it is poor.
