This SACD has such a metallic high end that it is unlistenable. The music is also very boring. One of the worst if not the worse SACD I own. |

The sound quality of this disc is as good as SACD gets - especially the cuts from Peter Grimes. Try cut 10 "Storm". RVW symphony No. 5 is a snooze at least to me. Whenever I see LSO Live I know the sound quality wiill be awful but then I read a good review and I buy the disc. It is not the halls fault. This is a flat two dimensional, thin, somewhat bright sounding SACD. The interpretation is quite joyful although I am no Schumann expert but the sound is strikingly bad. I listen in two channel. |

I purchased this based on the SACD.net reviews and the fact that I basically like Richard Strauss. This is definitely not first rate Strauss.
