I will sometimes put on a recording to serve as background music while I read. With this album, I couldn't do that - it gripped my attention so that I had to put the book down and listen.

The prior reviewers got it right - one finely played and fine sounding album. (Only listened on 2 channel SACD/CD)
I'd like to add two points.
One - too much yakking. Give us music not stale jokes. Great conversationalists they ain't

This is a great mix. His voice was rich, sonorous, and clear; the drive of the guitars was strong and the riffs delightful.
Better than a live performance - no smoke or stale beer smell - but the energy of a night when the band was ON was there. |

While the performances are classics, the new sonics on this disk are unworthy of Mr. Gaye.

Get down and boogie! Love the honesty and fun of this blues album. The sound is great - very alive sounding and you don't have to breathe a lot of smokey air and smell the stale beer to enjoy it. |
