This is simply wonderful. Far superior to any other version I have heard, especially the recent - and disappointing - Jacobs recording. This is a fine performance in good sound. There is a slight problem, however, as the recording is 4.0, not 5.0 as Glossa originally stated on their website. It also says on the disc cover that the recording is 5.0. It is not. I have had Glossa confirm that the recording is indeed 4.0 (but not before ... more

This is gorgeous. Please disregard the one reviewer who writes about the Gurney as if it is a lesser work. This is offensive. The Gurney is perhaps the MOST gorgeous piece on the whole CD. This is an outstanding disc. Ars Nova are wonderful, the music - especially the Edwards - is great, and the DXD recording is spectacularly fine.
