This release proved problematic for me soundwise. David Russell is a marvelous guitarist but I find fault with the recording of this sacd. Telarc for the most part does awesome recordings and sacd's. For the most part the transfers of RCA living stereo are excellent. But I feel that this particular transfer was not up to their usual standards. It seems that in order to rightfully review an sacd one would have to have an actual sacd player and a decent stereo system. Its never fair to review the cd layer even if it is derived from the sacd layer. Otherwise the person in question will not really know or understand why sacd is special. There ... more |

Classic rock album. Excellent sacd transfer. Some peole complain of the tape hiss but I would argue it that with good equipment this would not be a burden.
