This release proved problematic for me soundwise. David Russell is a marvelous guitarist but I find fault with the recording of this sacd. Telarc for the most part does awesome recordings and sacd's. They don''t win those grammies for nothing. But I wonder if they didn;t get the entire spectrum of sound here or perhaps my system doesn;t do it justice. It;s as if the entire sound of the guitar does not come through the speakers. Even though I can detect every note played it seems that all of the information regarding that note does not come through. When he hits a more bass like note it does not go deep enough and the reverb seems cut off. There is also a very cold feel to the sound of this recording. A digital coldness that is not present on many other excellent guitar sacd's I own.

It's to bad really. I was looking forward to this release very much as Mr. Russell is a superb guitarist.

Great sound from Telarc and a solid production team for the recording. I love the playing
and the performance and I am eager to hear new cd's by this exciting artist. The guitar
is usually not my favorite instrument but I am getting to love it via this commendable recording.
I recommend this album to any lover of guitar music.
