Queen has been on my "todo" list for along time, waiting for the prejudice from being subjected to radio repetition to fade. It took 15 years, and with the SHM releases I bit the bullet on these releases.

Excellent tone by the violinist. These gentle piano and violin duets are ideal late night music. The recording is excellent, they're a charming duo and currently playing in front of my fireplace. |

I'm new to Debussy, Satie meets Eine Kleine Nachtmusik? His own quote best describes this disc (at least the first so far!)

Spirited performance, Szell gets stuck in, no whispy strings here. Sounds like a concert, a bit closer than the walter performances. Slightly brighter presentation which will please those who find some SACD's too smooth. However, it doesn't become strident, you can still tell the strings are using ... more |

This recording and performance are wonderful. Oistrakh never sounds wispy and leads the orchestra (conducted superbly by Cluytens, so no suprises there). I'm so glad a friend introduced me to Oistrakh, they dont make them like this anymore. |
