I have been creating my home system for a couple years now and now I am quite happy with what I have. I was involved in the development of the amplllllifiers and speakers I currently use, and was involved in the adaptation of the Vacuum State Electronics level 4 modification for US-spec Sony DVP s9000ES. I can say from my own experience and from comments from several other audiophiles, and more importantly, from lots of testing, that this sytem is as impressive as any system currently available on the market. I had the chance to hear a 'cream of the crop' system at a particular showroom in San Francisco that was worth well over $150,000, that consisted of componenets from well-respected brands, and was sursprised to find that in every respect my system outperformed it within resonable listening levels.
I am currently in the process of developing the webpage and writing the user manuals for the new amps and speaker line. The old webpage has very outdated information, but still has reviews of the older products by stereo review and others, and tells about the CES showstopper awards given to them. digitalp.com
New site should be up and running in a month or so.
THe system sounds lush, warm, VERY dynamic (94 dB sensitivity)but not boomy unless room placement makes them sound that way. ALso +/- 1 db from 35-22, and most notably, it is amazingly detailed with a soundstage and presesnce that with the right recordings, sound almost like live music.

The Tiptons: Surrounded by Horns          (1 of 2 found this review helpful)

As usual, I am too busy to care about spelling, and this album did not impress me enough for me to make time to describe it in detail. BUt breifly, this is an all woman jazz band that has somewhat of a strange style. There are not vocals, in the strict sense of the word. THey make liberal use of ... more

I do not wish to coment too much on musical style. In brief, the music is primarily guitar trio, and duet with solo accompaniment. the style is unique and varies from track to track. It often fuses classical components with jazz, along with intense improvisation. It is unlike most jazz in that it is ... more

Persoanlly, I really appreciate the unique style of this group and enjoy this album very much. However, I think the vocals should have been mixed a little differently from a sonic perspective. Somewhere around 7-10 kHz there is an abrasive edge. You can hear it strongly in the vocals when "S" sounds ... more

I purchased this organ SACD not really knowing very much about the composers or the organist, but only b/c I worked for an organist for some time and wanted to have some good organ peices for reminiscence sake. However, I feel unqualified to review it as a musical piece. My uneducated impressions ... more

Due to my equipment, I was only able to review this album in the stereo mode. I have had this album for a month now. Regarding the music, I agree with Zomax for the most part- The music is well composed and excellently played. However, I also agree that the Hendrix part could have been spiced up a ... more
