Review by rammiepie August 23, 2014 (6 of 7 found this review helpful)
Performance:   Sonics:
The Planets Op 32 for Piano! I've experienced it performed on organ, and of course multi orchestral renderings but was hardly prepared for the "reimagining" of pianists Eva~Marie Zimmermann and Keisuke Nakagoshi's performance for four hands on a Steinway Model D Concert Grand.

It was akin to hearing it anew as these very talented musicians and Sono Luminus' impeccable recording team have rendered Holst's most famous chestnut a sonic vibrancy of colors which begs a listen.

Rounding out this program are The Milky Way (Urmas Sisask) another inspired tone poem of dazzling piano prowness and Celestial Mechanics by George Crumb and Gravity by composer David Lang.

Audiophile Audition granted this recording "Multichannel Disc of the Month" and awarded it 5 stars.

I will echo AA's rating tenfold.
