Performance:   Sonics:
The performances are great, Oscar and Co. are one of the best bands ever. The arrangements are very nice and vary to suite each song. Ray Brown plays great as always. I was somewhat disappointed with the sounds quality on the first track but once the second track came on I was comfortable with the sound. Verve recordings are generally very sound as is this one but it is not in the realm of the best recording around, though still very solid. I think this is one of the best presentations of West Side Story's music. No words, so Sondheim fans may not appreciate this as much but the music is wonderful. Enjoy.
