With this second SACD volume that pays tribute to Montserat Figueras, it is a unique voice we rediscover over the course of different recordings. As the poet Carles Duarte i Montserrat said so well: “Montserrat Figueras’ voice, offering its form of impressive beauty to an immense vocal repertory of medieval, renaissance and baroque periods, graced it with great significance by her subtle and demanding character. The silence of her tired body cannot divest us of the joy of having heard her, nor the deep emotion we procure once again when listening to the recordings proposed here.” Accompanied by a DVD that traces her life, personality, musical engagement and also includes comments by those close to her as well as artists she worked with, this new release commands respect as a poignant and essential eyewitness remembrance.
