| This is a distinguished performance in the taut, crisp Szell style, to me preferable to his earlier performance released on SACD by Sony, and has been a favorite of mine for years. The SACD is better than the two prior RBCD releases I have heard, but my original HMV and Japanese EMI LPs are noticeably fuller and richer. Certainly well worth having, but perhaps not as key an acquisition as some of the other recent Japanese EMI SACDs given the amazing choices added to the medium by those releases.
