This is pretty good recording of Mahler's Ninth Symphony. Gergiev's tempi are moving, the whole work's total time is "only" 79 minutes. London Symphony Orchestra plays virtuosity, but sometimes orchestra's tone is awful and surround sound mix isn't the best; surround speakers "echo effect" isn't very effectively, it is quiet and dry. I recommend Michael Tilson Thomas' recording with San Francisco Symphony Orchestra (Avie) or Alan Gilbert's touching performance with Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra (BIS). This is nice, but it isn't very beautiful, although LSO plays magnificently. Buy this, if you collect Valery Gergiev's Mahler cycle.
