Yes. Again the reviewers are correct. This is a magnificent sacd. Another great jazz classic is transferred beautifully.

The original Doug Sax sacd is still a great listen but as with Way out west.........this newly remastered dsd sacd is simply awesome and much better.

What is really surprising is that Sax used the original master tapes while Universal Japan used a 2nd generation tape. But it is the far superior listen. It bears repeating. They must be using some serious hardware to achieve this stunning quality.

Its obvious that jitter has been reduced to a great degree on this disc. The sound is so natural and analogue. The relaxed realism and openess is a marvel to feel. The dynamic range......the transients and warmth. Very...very impressive.

Highly recommended.

Before you read this review of this SHM-SACD, I recommend you to read the reviews posted regards the Doug Sax mastered SACD from 2002, issued by Analogue Productions. I have it.

I thought the Sax SACD was pretty good. But this was before I heard the SHM-SACD! The SHM crushes the previous SACD. The SHM-SACD is much more analogue, organic and open in sound! And has a wider soundstage. On the SHM you can "look" into the recording room in Contemporary studios in 1957. Marvollous! And the instruments is much more real and organic sounding.

Don't miss this if you are a fan of this classic jazz album.

No mastering credit information on this SHM-SACD.
