I bought this album after reading rave reviews on the internet.
Even though it cost me an arm and a leg to order it and have it shipped to Europe I did it because of the high expectations I had.
Well not to be to blunt about it, for me it was a waste of money. Man I can’t describe my disappointment with this album. Sure it sounds great, but the music is wasted on me. The albums contain three tracks I kind of like, but the rest just doesn’t do it for me.
If you like Patricia Barber, buy it. If you don’t know her try hard to find some sound bites on the internet and listen to them more than once. Than if your really sure buy it, if in doubt, DON’T. Well my girlfriend likes it though, so maybe it’s just me?

This one is the first of a series of Premonition recordings that became hits within the audiophile community as LP-releases. The reissued SACD is an audiophile highlight as well with its superb sound and huge dynamics.
With her clear voice she sings The Thrill is Gone, but she is definitely wrong, there is a lot of thrill listening to this disc, although I listened to it so many times and know it so well. This music is the perfect mixture of sophisticated arrangement and interpretation with goose-pimples generating sensitivity and drive. Frank Loesser`s Inch Worm comes creeping out of the deep bass region and Billy Joe tremendously urges you to stride with him, slowly. Barber`s original Too Rich For My Blood starts relaxed, unspectacular and ends as a breathtaking furioso of drums and something alike she does with Nardis. This music will capture your attention completely, again and again.

i'm Patricia's fan and this is one of the best albums.
soundwise all her MFSL discs are perfect and great fun listening to.
