For any jazz bass freak, this is a must (as is its predecessor on standard CD). These three are among the cream of the crop of jazz bassists, play serious music, have fun just as well, including short vocal inflections (with the cheerious audience joining in!), treat old standards creatively, etc. - in other words, a monster jazz bass disc. The sound could be slighly better but is top for a live recording, and the joy of playing this music before such an appreciative audience is felt in every note, so this is no reason to complain.

If you love jazz bass and can't get enough of it, this is for you - just three of the greatest exponents of the instrument in a exemplary display of chops and camaraderie. Let the room reverberate from the plucking of low strings. (Be sure to attach any loose stuff in the listening room.)

If you don't care that much for jazz bass, buy this as a gift for someone who does!

Though the music might seem superficial at first, this recording really grows on you. The more you listen to it, the more you'll get into the music, the unbelievable groove, the talent of the performers.
Worth every cent of it. Sound is first-rate, detailed yet sweet, punchy. The sound of the bow on the stings will give you shivers.
A unique feeling of live music.

I definitely wouldn't rate this album on a level with the Telarc Ray Brown, Monty Alexander, Russell Malone album.
