Performance:   Sonics:
The disc begins with the Fanfare, and it sounds absolutely conviencing. You can hear every resonance of brass and copper, amazing SACD tribute, really.
The ballets from Billy The Kid are sweet, unfortunately the sub-titles (The Open Prairie, Street in a Frontier Town, Mexican Dance & Finale, Prairie Night, Gun Battle, Celebration, Open Prairie Again)
are not separated from track 2, so you can't switch between them.
Hoe-Down Rodeo is brilliant, it is one of the most refreshing and exciting rodeos, nothing too harsh, nothing too serious.
On the other hand, violins are quite weak all around the album. You can't feel the crushing performance of an orchestra (Royal Philharmonic, by the way...)
It is somehow missing the "presence" and cooperation of houndreds. This is my opinion, and I
unquestionably prefer german perfomance to british.
After all, this makes the album an absolutely lightweight music to listen, when you are tired from classical and bored from pop&rock. :)

Also note, this is not a DSD recording (1994)
