If you don't know Kalevi Aho's (born 1949) compositions, this SACD - which contains his music for solo piano - is excellent introduction to you. Sonja Fräki is wonderful pianist! These works are recorded in the presence of the composer, and Fräki follows Aho's wishes closely. Piano Sonata is delightful work. BIS label's recording is fabulous, especially on multi-channel. Again outstanding disc for BIS's Aho Series! Highly recommend!
