Wonderful addition to BIS label's Aho Series - and even SACD! What a pleasure...

How do you now that the pianist followed the composers wishes closely? Were you at the sessions? Talked with the pianist or composer? You make no mention about what this music is like - atonal? diatonic? chromatic? Any anchor points with other composers? For unknown repertoire like this, it is very helpful to describe the music so others can decide if it may be worth a purchase. Your review doesn't help me to make that decision. Sorry.

Well, I only guess that this would be brilliant. I haven't heard this. BIS label's previous Aho discs are excellent, so this might be also.

It is understandable that Fräki follows Aho's wishes closely, because he [Aho] was at the recording sessions. I wasn't there... :)

If you haven't heard the disc, how can you post a review?

Jesus wept.

How many of your 130 reviews did you write without having heard the disc in question?

There are about two or three discs whose I haven't heard.

By the way, BIS will release two other interesting SACDs:
- Fagerlund, Sebastian: Violin Concerto "Darkness in Light"
Pekka Kuusisto (violin), Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Hannu Lintu (conductor) BIS2093
- Ravel, Maurice: Daphnis et Chloé (complete ballet), Pavane
Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Séguin (conductor) BIS1850

Please DO NOT publish any more "reviews" for discs that you haven't heard. You have zero credibility.

The review should be deleted. You can use the discussion thread to express your expectations or share some information on a disc.
