Carl Nielsen: MASKARADE (2 SACD box set) 6.220641-42

Dacapo Records present this millennium’s first complete studio recording of Carl Nielsen’s 3 act opera Maskarade with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra led by Nielsen expert Michael Schønwandt. The cast has been selected from The Royal Danish Opera’s finest soloists, including Johan Reuter, Stephen Milling and Dénise Beck.

Should be good.

There are a number of roadblocks preventing the release of back catalogue titles in QUAD as I was led to believe: If MoFi or AP have released current stereo SACDs AF won't touch them....professional courtesy, I surmise.

It's more a case of looking for titles to bring to SACD that haven't recently been released on SACD to maximize sales and insure a return on the upfront investment (licensing costs, cost to press "X" number of SACDs in the agreement, etc.)

I have the DVD Audio. The stereo is superb but the surround is sublime IMHO. One of my favourite DVD Audios.

Not a big fan of Audio Fidelity due to their underhand marketing tactics - E.G. The 2 Yes SACD releases were marketed as being limited to 5000 numbered edition. Bulls~@t! the first 5000 copies had a numbered sticky label on the outer cardboard cover the rest didn't. There was nothing limited about it apart from a sticky label. Highly misleading and a marketing ploy to get the item demand up prior to release.

I have to agree with onenairb. I stopped buying AF releases, cause they sound thin to me. period.

So, let me get this straight.

AF actually made MORE than 5000 SACDs. And...

You are complaining.

LOL!

I hope you enjoy paying OOP prices.

David, if you've followed the various posts regarding the superlatives afforded AF releases on this and QuadraphonicQuadforum then you have to ask yourself a simple question:

Is is ME?

Try either a bass boost or raise the volume. The AF multichannel releases are encoded at low levels and by raising the volume you should get extremely satisfactory sonics. I find this to be true for MOST mch SACDs (whether popular or classical).
